Australians who want to sell their homes themselves without
the help of real estate agents have a new internet venue for advertising their
properties for free called For Sale by Owner.
ForSalebyOwner.com.au is one of the few web sites in
Australia which offers free advertising for private sellers of real estate and
other goods and services.
It offers advertisers a competitive alternative to other
sites such as: AussieRealEstate.com, which offers free listings of properties
for sale by owners; and Freead.com.au and Cracker.com.au, which offer free
classified advertising in general.
For Sale by Owner offers free classified advertising for
private sales under the following categories: real estate, other goods, and
services. It also offers free classifieds for community announcements, job
vacancies, entertainment events and personals.
Advertising is categorised under each state and territory of
Australia and each category has many subcategories.
The web site includes links to mortgage lenders, advice on
selling a home without an agent, and a forum for advertisers who want to make
suggestions, share their knowledge and
experiences or express their opinions about selling property without agents.
For Sale by Owner also gives homeowners access to
professionally designed real estate signage, brochures and other marketing
materials.

has been developed by Robert Harrison, the managing director of
ForSalebyOwner.com.au Pty Ltd which is based in Sydney.
A long-term advocate of private sales, Robert says, “Home
owners often underestimate their ability to sell a home until they gain access
to comprehensive information about how to sell.
“Then they realise that they have every right to sell their
properties privately, without having to pay thousands of dollars for real
estate agents and advertising.
“Many home owners are afraid to negotiate a private sale so
we encourage them to use a competent solicitor to handle this part of the
process,” he says.
