James Middleweek, managing director, Financial Redress Pty Ltd.

James Anthony Middleweek, of Perth, Australia, was born in Manchester, United Kingdom, in 1965.

He graduated from Bristol University with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1986 and qualified as a solicitor in the UK in 1990.

Middleweek worked for Nabarro Nathanson Solicitors in London from 1988 to 1992 and practiced there as a corporate lawyer. 

He made a career change in 1992 to become a stockbroking analyst at Smith New Court PLC, which was acquired by Merrill Lynch International in 1995, and he worked there until 1996.

Then he worked as a stockbroking analyst for Collins Stewart Tullett from 1996 to 2003.

He emigrated to Australia with his wife and two young boys at the end of 2003.

He worked as a stockbroking analyst with Cunningham Securities in Perth from late 2004 to 2009. During this time he also passed a Securities Institute Law and Ethics examination.

James Middleweek set up Financial Redress Pty Ltd, based in Perth, in 2009 with himself as the managing director of this incorporated law firm.
